You’ve all seen the teasers on social media and with the whole of South Wales now talking about our latest exciting news, it’s fair to say that the cat is finally out of the bag! Without further ado, we’re delighted to officially share the news that we’ve said “I do” on a deal to acquire Fairyhill Hotel , a prestigious, five-star, Grade II listed building in Gower. We’re over the moon with the acquisition and what the future holds for the newly formed Oldwalls Collection.
The perfect match
As wedding specialists and a leading wedding venue in Wales, we know a good match when we see it, and Fairyhill just felt right for our brand. The beautiful Georgian mansion is such a romantic setting that we see a real potential to transform it into a dedicated wedding venue in time. Of course, Fairyhill will remain open as a prestigious restaurant with rooms, but we’ll be using our wedding expertise to make it a leading wedding venue in Wales. We’ll also be changing a few things to the décor with a refurbishment but we’ll be retaining all of the wonderful Fairyhill staff as well as adding some more new faces into the mix.
For those who aren’t familiar with Fairyhill, the elegant mansion comprises an award-winning restaurant with rooms. In a nutshell, it’s luxurious but with an air of informality; just how we like it. We’ll continue to offer the signature fine-dining and afternoon tea experience that Fairyhill has become renowned for whilst working with the chefs to inject a little bit of Oldwalls magic into the menu and spruce things up a little.
A toast to the future
2016 has been a great year for Oldwalls, and we feel like our acquisition of Mulberry Houseand now Fairyhill perfectly shows our commitment to giving our customers the best experience on the most special day of their lives. It also gives us a fantastic opportunity to continue to invest in Gower and rejuvenate the area. It’s no secret that the picturesque setting of Gower has been integral to our success, and being able to share this breathtaking location with others means a lot to us.
Our Managing Director, Andrew, commented, “This exciting acquisition is testament to Oldwalls’ commitment to business growth and expansion, we plan to build on Fairyhill’s existing success and will continue to operate as a five-star restaurant with rooms while we develop a luxury wedding venue market. Our wedding industry expertise will be utilised to develop a five star venue, matching the award winning standards of our flagship, Oldwalls Gower.”
With 2017 just around the corner, we have big plans for the year ahead and we’re more than excited to see what lies ahead for Oldwalls Collection. Come along to one of our wedding showcases, raise a glass to Fairyhill with us, and find out more about the enchanting venue that’s captured our hearts.
